Yago Cesario Claims Skip Barber Scholarship

ALTON, Va. – Yago Cesario, 16, from Goiania, Brazil, came to the Karting Scholarship Shootout with high expectations.

“I think in about the eight years I’ve been racing, in these three days, I have learned the most,” said Cesario in his natural Portuguese accent. “I improved a lot here and I want to continuing improving with Skip Barber.”

After three days of judging and scoring, he has earned a full season in the Skip Barber Racing School 2012-2013 Winter Race Series or Summer Race series, which is the first step in the Mazda Road to Indy.

“I’ve talked to my father and we would prefer to run in the Summer Series,” said Cesario.

He developed a feel for the Skip Barber Formula 2000 cars in just a few days to record the fastest lap time of the event–1:18.057.

Cesario as earned a full season in the Skip Barber Racing School 2012-2013 Winter Race Series or Summer Race series.
