World Challenge To Return To Lime Rock
LAKEVILLE, Conn. — WC Vision announced the Pirelli World Challenge will race at Lime Rock Park, July 4-6, 2013.
The series returns to the scenic 1.5 mile track having last raced there in 2008.
Over the three days, GT, GTS, Touring Car and Touring Car B-Spec drivers and machines will compete in a total of five races – GT/GTS competitors will race twice, while TC/TCB competitors will race three times. It’s the 16th time in Pirelli World Challenge history that the series will race at Lime Rock Park, situated in the hills of Connecticut’s Litchfield County.
“We’re thrilled to have the Pirelli World Challenge Championship here for 2013,” said Lime Rock Park President Skip Barber. “From its beginnings as the Escort Endurance series, Lime Rock has hosted a race for more than half of World Challenge’s 27 years – 11 consecutive years, in fact, between 1995 and 2005. I consider it one of the world’s best sports car racing series, and have been anxious to see the Pirelli World Challenge return to Lime Rock Park since its last visit, in 2008.”
“On behalf of our fans, racers and series partners we are excited to be returning to iconic Lime Rock Park,” said Scott Bove, President and CEO, WC Vision. “As other professional road racing series are decreasing their schedules we are expanding our series with more race dates.”
