INDIANAPOLIS – After announcing plans to sit out events on the Streets of Long Beach and at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing has decided to shutter its TUDOR United SportsCar Championship team effective immediately.

The team, which won the last two American Le Mans Series P1 championships with drivers Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf for the series merged with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, confirmed the news via Twitter Thursday morning.

“Yes, the news is true. We have withdrawn from TUSC (TUDOR United SportsCar Championship),” the team announced via Twitter. “There will be no further comments on the matter. We hope to be back racing at some point.”

The team, owned by Greg Pickett, entered both the Rolex 24 at Daytona Int’l Speedway and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at Sebring Int’l Raceway, utilizing a Nissan-powered ORECA 03 LMP2 they acquired during the off-season. The team finished fifth overall during the Rolex 24 and was 48th out of 63 entries during the Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Following the race in Sebring the team announced on March 25 they would be skipping the next two races on the United SportsCar schedule to focus on reliability and performance testing. At this point the team has no plans to return to competition.

“We want to thank our fans for all their support throughout the years, it’s been tons of fun and hopefully we can have more fun in the future,” the team said via Twitter.
