Former Midget Owner Lindner Dies At 73

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The 1971 Badger Midget Series Car Owner champion Richard “Dick” Lindner died on Dec. 2 at the age of 73.

Lindner participated as a driver with Badger between 1963 and 1966, finishing 11th in points in 1964. Moving from the cockpit to the ownership role, Lindner’s finest season came in 1971 with Lars Lein driving the Advance Transportation Spl. No. 6. The pair won both the Badger driver and car owners titles.

The following season they finished second in points and Lindner’s final season as car owner in 1973 resulted in a third-place points finish.

Lindner and his brother Ronald built the Advance Transportation Company into one of the largest LTL/Trucking company’s in the Midwest before selling the company to ANR Companies in the late 90s.
