Third Day Added To Trenton Indoor Races
TRENTON, N.J. — Racers Day Sunday, featuring micro stock cars, quarter midgets, go-karts and radio-controlled quarter-scale stock cars has been added to the previously announced Battle of Trenton.
The first indoor auto racing extravaganza will be presented at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J. on Sunday Feb. 9 as part of a three-day weekend of action.
The first two days of racing, on Fri., Feb. 7 and Sat., Feb. 8. will feature the popular three-quarter midget race cars driven by top northeast drivers both nights.
On Friday night, the TQ midgets will be joined by slingshot racers and on Saturday will share the spotlight with champ karts.
The Sunday races, a first for Len Sammons Motorsports Productions, will feature hobbyists, both the young and young-at-heart.
On the card will be micro stocks which are miniature versions of full sized stock cars.
Quarter midget cars are driven by the same youngsters who compete throughout the spring, summer and fall at small, purpose built paved or dirt tracks.
Classes scheduled include Senior Honda, Heavy Honda, Light and Heavy 160, Light World Formula and Heavy World Formula. Go-karts will be featured in Stock Animal 375, Stock Flathead 375 and Senior Champ divisions.
The Trenton races are being promoted by Len Sammons Motorsports Productions and will follow the 12th annual Indoor race program at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., slated for Jan. 24.25.
