Dewease & Heffner Racing Splitting
Heffner Racing and driver Lance Dewease have decided to part ways following the conclusion of the 2013 sprint-car racing season.
Dewease, a native of Fayetteville, Pa., is currently in the market for a new ride next year in the potent Central Pennsylvania region. The 48-year-old veteran has plenty of accolades on his resume – including winning the 2002 Williams Grove National Open and track championships at Port Royal (six), Williams Grove (five) and Lincoln (one) – that should help him find a ride next season.
“I have to thank Mike Heffner and everyone at his team for the opportunity they gave me this season,” Dewease said. “The results that we have put up this year have been disappointing to the both of us, and we have decided to go our separate ways at the end of the year. Hopefully we can string together some good finishes to close out our relationship.”
Though the team has struggled to be consistent, Dewease managed to score his second All Stars Eastern Region Championship on top of three feature event wins.
