HELLERTOWN, Pa. – Heffner Racing Enterprises has named former World of Outlaws driver Greg Hodnett as the team’s driver for the 2014 racing season.

Hodnett, from Thomasville, Pa., replaces departing driver Lance Dewease in the famous Heffner No. 27. Both drivers will run tomorrow night’s Fall Fest at Williams Grove Speedway — Dewease in the No. 27 and Hodnett in the No. 27H.

“By comparison, I haven’t been a team owner for very long. But I have been fortunate to work with some of the best drivers in sprint car racing — many of whom I grew up watching,” said team owner Mike Heffner. “We are thrilled that Greg Hodnett will be part of the team next year.”

As a full time driver, Hodnett’s livelihood is dependent on how well he and his team perform on the track.

“Heffner Racing’s philosophy is to do the best they can — they definitely want to win races and put forth every effort to be competitive. That’s important to me because it’s what I do for a living,” said Hodnett. “But also as a leader, Mike wants the team to enjoy themselves and have fun. It’s a good balance and I’m confident we can be successful.”
