SYDNEY — Tim Kaeding had luck on his side Friday night as he captured the 25-lap feature on the opening night of the Scott Darley Classic at Valvoline Raceway.

Jason Sides led from the start, but spun on the final lap while working lapped traffic, handing the victory to Kaeding.

Fellow American Brad Sweet finished second, followed by Robbie Farr, Trevor Green and fast qualifier Steve Kinser.

Night one completed with 59 cars in the pits and every driver checking their points tally and working on a plan for night two.
