Krietz Captures Port Royal’s Tuscarora 50

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Don Krietz Jr. tracked down Brian Montieth late and drove away to to victory in the 46th annual Tuscarora 50 sanctioned by the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway.

Krietz grabbed the lead on the opening circuit and led until lap 37, when 24th-starter Montieth took over the top spot. Krietz didn’t give up however, staying right in Montieth’s tire tracks as the laps clicked off.

On lap 40 Krietz made his move, overtaking Montieth to re-take the race lead. Krietz led the final 10 laps to score the victory.

Danny Dietrich came from 15th to finish second, followed by Montieth, polesitter Ryan Smith and Lance Dewease.
