Madsen Edges Stewart In MOWA Sprints

PONTOON BEACH, Ill. — Veteran Australian sprint car racer Ian Madsen held off Tony Stewart to win Thursday night’s Midwest Open Wheel Ass’n Illinois Sprint Week feature at Tri-City Speedway.

Driving the Nehring No. 18, Madsen beat Stewart to the checkered flag on the three-eighths-mile dirt track.

Kody Kinser finished third with Jerrod Hull and Jimmy Hurley completing the top five.

Thirty-seven cars were on hand.
