Next Generation Of Earnhardt Going Racing
In May, Elledge entered her fourth season in the Mini Outlaw Series this May at Millbridge (N.C.) Speedway, driving a kart build and prepared by Jimmy Elledge Racing. Already this season, she has won five out of the eight Box Stock races.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the next great Earnhardt driver and help showcase her talent, achievements and progression through the racing ranks,” said Anthony DiCosmo, Vice President, Sports Marketing, Nickelodeon Group. “Karsyn Elledge is a terrific role model for kids. She personifies the Sandy Cheeks character on SpongeBob SquarePants, with her athleticism, intelligence, independence and love of physical challenges, and we look forward to seeing her take the No. 3 Sandy Cheeks kart to Victory Lane.”
In her first season, Elledge earned three feature wins in nine starts in the No. 38 Mini Outlaw, and she never finished lower than third place. She added four heat victories to her total, and she capped her inaugural season by placing second at the 2010 East Coast Nationals at the Iredell County Fairgrounds.
She raced the No. 333 car in 2011 to promote North Carolina House Bill 333. The bill, which was successfully adopted, made stock car racing the official state sport of North Carolina.
Elledge switched to the legendary No. 3 for the 2012 season and subsequently won her first championship in the Box Stock division at Millbridge Speedway. Her Box Stock season featured five victories, including four in a row at one point. Elledge also won a pair of races in the 125cc division.
