USSA Partners With Simpson World Indy
LEBANON, Ind. – Officials of the United States Speed Ass’n announced today the top Rookie Drivers in the 2013 USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series and the Mel Kenyon Midget Series will be the recipient of the Rookie of the Year Award presented by Simpson World Indy.
The USSA Simpson World Indy Rookies of the Year will be determined by its own point system based on the official results of each of the races in both series. The 2013 Rookie of the Year Presented by Simpson World Indy will receive a Simpson Helmet.
Points will be awarded to the rookie drivers using the international points systems of 9, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1. Each driver’s points will be determined by his or her official finish in each race rather than on their overall standings in the series championship races.
“This will be the fourth year Simpson World Indy has presented our Rookie of the Year drivers with an award,” said Eric Bunn Vice President of USSA. “We value our relationship with Simpson and, more importantly, we value the efforts they make to keep our drivers safe on the race track.”
