USSA Sprint Finale Set For Oct. 4-5

LEBANON, Ind. – Officials with the United States Speed Ass’n and Anderson Speedway have scheduled the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 50 for Oct. 4-5.

The event will be run in conjunction with Anderson Speedway’s Fall Festival event. The event will promote the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer efforts and kick-off 2013’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The two day event will feature qualifying and heat races on Oct. 4 and the 50-lap feature for the popular non-wing sprint cars will be held on Oct. 5.

“I am very excited to be joining forces with the Women of the UAW, USSA and Anderson Speedway to Make Strides Against Breast Cancer. The American Cancer Society is the world’s leader in the fight to end breast cancer. Together we can do the most for people with breast cancer today to end the disease tomorrow,” said Beverley Austin, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Manager in Central Indiana.

“We in the UAW are proud of this partnership with Anderson Speedway, USSA and the Making Strides Campaign,” said UAW’s Danny Ernstes. “This event is a witness to all who have battled cancer. It represents the UAW’s commitment of our members and our families to help eliminate breast cancer while providing a means of support.”

“As we build the Sprint Car Challenge Series along with our partners, the men and women of the UAW, it’s important that we are good citizens and a part of the communities we race in,” said USSA Vice President Eric Bunn. “I think our race fans will be excited when they see what Rick Dawson and Anderson Speedway has planned for this special race.”
