Bernal Stops Sheridan At Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Ryan Bernal fought off Danny Sheridan to pick up his third USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series victory of the season in Saturday’s Bud Stanfield Memorial at Santa Maria Speedway.

Bernal led the first three laps before fast-qualifier Sheridan took control. But Bernal wasn’t finished, charging back to the front on the 11th tour of the three-eighths-mile dirt track.

From there, Bernal held off Sheridan the rest of the way. Matt Mitchell, Bud Kaeding and Danny Faria Jr. filled the top five.
