INDIANAPOLIS – This week’s Four Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, offers three opportunities for USAC National Drivers Championship contenders to improve their standings.

The Mopar National Midgets, AMSOIL National Sprint Cars and Traxxas Silver Crown cars are all in action in Saturday’s program at the Ohio half-mile, along with USAC’s Mopar .25 Midgets, which are competing at the “Little E” oval.

Although Bryan Clauson’s 96-point lead over Levi Jones was not affected by last Saturday’s AMSOIL Sprint car results at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., two drivers were able to advance in the top-10 rankings.

Dave Darland’s fourth-place Tri-State finish boosted him past Darren Hagen into fourth in the NDC standings. Chris Windom’s fifth-place finish enabled him to pass Jerry Coons Jr. for seventh in the new standings.

Clauson is seeking to win his third-straight National Drivers Championship, which offers a scholarship towards competing in Firestone Indy Lights or the IZOD IndyCar Series.

This year Clauson used the scholarship to make his debut in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he finished 30th after an early spin.
