Haubstadt Hustler Next For USAC Sprints
INDIANAPOLIS – The AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car point leaders head for Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., Saturday for the $10,000-to-win Haubstadt Hustler, co-sanctioned by the Midwest Sprint Car Series.
Last weekend, Dave Darland and Bryan Clauson continued their battle for the 2013 title by sweeping the Arkansas races at Little Rock and West Memphis.
Clauson, of Noblesville, Ind., got by Kyle Cummins on lap eight and led the final 23 laps Friday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock to beat Kevin Thomas Jr., Brady Bacon, Cummins and Tim Crawley. Clauson piloted the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing Chevy Performance/Curb Records Beast/Kistler.
Saturday’s 30-lapper at Riverside Int’l Speedway in West Memphis went to Darland, of Lincoln, Ind., driving the Phillips Motorsports Racer’s Advantage DRC/Foxco. He took the lead on lap 34 when leader Clauson spun, then led the final seven laps to beat Jon Stanbrough, Tyler Courtney, Tracy Hines and Keaton Dobbs, as Clauson came back to take sixth. Local drivers Zach Pringle and Dobbs led the opening laps before Clauson took over on lap seven.
Drivers Chase Stockon and Courtney earned Pro Source fast qualifying awards in the two Arkansas events.
