GAS CITY, Ind. — Jon Stanbrough picked up his third win in the last four outings with the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series during Friday night’s opening round of the 27th Indiana Sprintweek.

Stanbrough led flag to flag in the 30-lap feature at Gas City I-69 Speedway, driving the Michael Dutcher Motorsports-owned MP Environmental Services – Indiana Underground Construction No. 37rw Maxim/Fisher to his 34th career win.

“It’s always good to start the week out on top and keep our good streak going, but tomorrow is another day and we have to stay on our game to be able to win this week,” Stanbrough said. “I really don’t like leading the whole race like that, not knowing who’s behind you or where the track is fast. I was having trouble getting off turn-four, but luckily the top wasn’t quite good enough.”

Stanbrough fought off fellow front-row starter Justin Grant to take the early lead and nailed himself to the bottom throughout. Grant fought back Tracy Hines for third, as Chris Windom also was in the mix. After an caution on lap three, the race went green throughout.
