Rain Postpones USAC Sprints At Tri-City
PONTOON BEACH, Ill. – Tonight’s USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series race at Tri-City Speedway has been postponed due to impending weather as a result of Tropical Storm Isaac.
The race will be rescheduled in October.
The USAC Mopar National Midgets are slated to compete at Tri-City Oct. 4-6 and sprint-car racing will accompany all three nights at the three-eighths-mile dirt oval.
“The rains have already reached the Tri-City area,” said USAC’s Jason McCord. “The anticipated heavy rains throughout the day and night are expected to create unraceable conditions. We are pleased that USAC and race organizers Kevin and Tammy Gundaker are able to reschedule this important race in October. Watch for all the details in the near future.”
The USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series is scheduled to compete tomorrow night at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track in the annual Jim Hurtubise Classic.
