Sheridan Stuns Spencer At Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Danny Sheridan came out on top of a wild battle with Mike Spencer to win Saturday’s AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series feature at Santa Maria Speedway.

Jace Vander Weerd jumped into the lead at the start of the 30-lap feature, which was co-sanctioned by the USAC Western Classic Sprint Car Series.

Vander Weerd led the opening eight laps before giving up the top spot to Sheridan. Sheridan dominated until lap 23, when Spencer made his move to the front.

The race was far from over, as Sheridan shadowed Spencer for the next few laps. Sheridan made his move on the white flag lap, bypassing Spencer to snatch the victory away.

Spencer settled for second, followed by Rip Williams, Vander Weerd and Nic Faas.
