Spencer Runs Down Clauson At Perris

PERRIS, Calif. — Mike Spencer kicked off three days of racing at Perris Auto Speedway by winning Thursday night’s 360 Oval Nationals at the half-mile dirt track.

Spencer took the lead from Bryan Clauson with two laps remaining and drove to victory in the Grudge Series finale that pitted the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series against the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series.

After losing the lead, Clauson jumped the cushion on the final lap and brushed the wall, paving way for Matt Mitchell to finish second.

Ryan Bernal, Brody Roa and Jon Stanbrough completed the top five.

Charles Davis Jr. was fast qualifier for the 35-car field.
