USAC’s Ted Horn 100 Falls To Rain

DUQUOIN, Ill. – Rains from tropical storm Isaac soaked the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, forcing cancellation of today’s Ted Horn 100 USAC Traxxas Silver Crown Series race.

The cancellation was only the third in the 64-year history of the race, which also suffered rainouts in 1962 and 2009.

The USAC Traxxas Silver Crown Series now prepares for its final two events, the 4-Crown Nationals at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Sept. 22 and the Sumar Classic 100 at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track on Oct. 13.

Activities at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds for Monday, including the 100-mile ARCA Racing Series event, remain on schedule.
