Veteran Car Owner Jack Steck, 74

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio — Longtime USAC car owner, mechanic and car builder Jack Steck died here Oct. 17. He was 74 years old.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Steck was retired from Orbit Erectors and was well known around the Midwest for the sprint cars he owned for drivers including Rich Vogler, Sheldon Kinser, Rich Vogler and Gary Bettenhausen.

Steck was preceded in death by his wife Ruth. Survivors include his son Greg and his wife, Teresa, and his daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and Greg Leffler and Suzy and Jim Rix. Steck had five grand children.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20,2012 at the Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton, Ohio. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
