Enfinger Seeks Fourth Straight Win
TOLEDO, Ohio – Just like butter, Grant Enfinger’s on a roll. And if he can keep it going at Talladega Superspeedway, the Fairhope, Ala. favorite will roll right into the ARCA history books.
Enfinger has won the first three events of the 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season at Daytona, Mobile and last weekend at Salem, becoming the first driver since 1970 to win the first three races of any calendar year. If he can win the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200
at Talladega on Saturday, he’ll be the first driver in ARCA history (62 years) to win the first four races of the year.
“It would be huge (winning at Talladega),” Enfinger said.
“Other than that one full season with the Allgaiers in 2011, I don’t think I’ve ever run four ARCA races in a row, let alone win them all.
“To be able to make a statement like this would be huge, not only for myself being an Alabama guy, but for Team BCR. Howard and Paula Bixman (team owners) are working so hard to give us what we need to win everywhere we go. I’m so proud of this team, the way they’ve all stepped up. I can’t say enough for our sponsors Casite, Motor Honey and Advance for letting me live out my dreams.”
Enfinger, who admittedly has never run well at Salem, overcame an ill-handling car in practice to qualify second and go on to win the race last Sunday after leading 106 of 202 laps.
He’ll take his Daytona-winning car to Talladega.
