LaJoie Goes Three-For-Four In ARCA
SPARTA, Ky. — Corey LaJoie won for the third time in four ARCA Racing Series starts this season, claiming Saturday’s ZLOOP 150 at Kentucky Speedway.
Driving the Roulo Brothers Ford, LaJoie dominated the event on the 1.5-mile superspeedway, beating Mason Mitchell to the checkered flag.
LaJoie, who is a Richard Petty Motorsports development driver and works with veteran crew chief Harold Holly, tied point leader Frank Kimmel as the leading winner in the series this season with three victories.
“It all worked out again for us, but the restarts were kind of tough,” said LaJoie, who led 42 laps. “I can’t thank everybody enough. It is always a blessing to get out here and do what you love and I am just taking it one race at a time.”
Mitchell turned in his career-best ARCA finish in 23 starts.
“All day our team never gave up, but I don’t know what else I could have done there at the end,” Mitchell said. “All in all it was a pretty good day.”
Spencer Gallagher finished third with Grant Enfinger and Chad Boat rounding out the top five.
Kimmel finished ninth with second-place in points Mason Mingus 10th. Kimmel takes a 215-point lead to the season finale at Kansas Speedway, where he will clinch his 10th ARCA championship by simply making a practice lap.
