Williams To Sub For Gallagher
WINCHESTER, Ind. — Josh Williams will fill in for Spencer Gallagher in the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Impala SS in the ARCA Racing Series event at Winchester Speedway.
Gallagher is still recovering from a vestibular concussion he received during a lap-72 wreck earlier in the month at Michigan Int’l Speedway. Heeding his doctor’s advice, Gallagher will continue with the outlined recovery plan by resting at his Mooresville, N.C., home this weekend.
Along with an upcoming two-week gap in the ARCA Racing schedule, Gallagher has hopes of returning to the seat July 21 at Chicagoland Speedway for the Ansell ActivArmr 150.
Williams has been a common sight in the ARCA garage since making his debut in 2010 with his family-operated Josh Williams Racing No. 02 team. Making the best of a limited-budget and partial schedule, Williams constantly finds himself battling inside the top-10 each week with the best drivers and teams.
“I cannot begin to thank everyone at Allegiant Travel and Gallagher Motorsports, including Spencer (Gallagher) for this amazing opportunity to drive the No. 23 Chevrolet,” Williams said. “Spencer is a great friend of mine and I wish him a speedy and safe recovery. We miss him at the track each week. I am really looking forward to getting to Winchester (Speedway) this weekend and getting a chance to work with all of these great Gallagher Motorsports guys. They put out a fantastic product each week.”
