Young Earnhardt Files For ARCA Truck ROY
Bobby Dale Earnhardt, in the All N One Pawn/Drive In Barbershop/Wilson Motorsports entry owned by Frank Wilson, has officially registered for the 2013 ARCA Truck Series Rookie of the Year.
“I think we’ve got a pretty good chance at it. I’ll be battling my teammate, Josh White, and we’re really excited about it all,” Earnhardt said. “You can’t win Rookie of the Year if you don’t finish races.”
Wilson, who owns three ARCA Truck Series wins and was runner-up in the 2010 championship battle to champion Chris Bailey, Jr., has been a big help to Earnhardt, son of former ARCA Racing Series winner Kerry Earnhardt and grandson of seven NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.
“Frank has taken me in and has been a big help to my career,” Earnhardt said. “I like having him in my ear, we’ve done a lot of testing in a dirt car, over 200 laps, and I’ve been back and forth between asphalt and dirt and back to asphalt again. I think we’re gonna have a freakin’ awesome season and I’m excited about what we think we can do. We’ll be going testing in a few weeks, Josh and I, and I can’t wait. And I can’t thank my sponsors enough. Without them, I certainly wouldn’t be where I’m at without them believing in what we’re doing.”
Earnhardt will make his first ARCA Truck Series start in the season opener May 11 at Flat Rock Speedway in Michigan. Levi Mansfield, the 2012 ARCA Truck Series champion, will be back in Ken Kirsch’s No. 54 Chevy to defend his title.
