Outlaw Figure 8 Series Gains Sponsor
ANDERSON, Ind. – The Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series (WOFS) has named Interstate Auto Auction as the series title sponsor in 2015.
Interstate Auto Auction is an Anderson based dealers only auto auction. An auto auction is held at its Columbus Avenue Anderson location every Monday at 5 p.m.
WOFS Managing Partner Steve Little expressed his excitement when announcing the partnership with Interstate Auto Auction.
“We’re glad to have Interstate Auto Auction as our new title sponsor,” said Little. “Obviously IAA President Colin Martin saw something he liked about what Dave (Sink) and I are doing with this series. I think this will be a great partnership. Our style of racing is a little different from other types of short track racing series. It is fresh and exciting and keeps fans on the edge of their seats. I think the WOFS and IAA, Inc. will be able to cross promote each other nicely.”
Effective immediately, the series will now be known as the Interstate Auto Auction WOFS. This year will mark the second year for the fledgling Late Model Figure 8 series.
Officials explained that the sponsorship will allow the series to give back to the teams in the form of a nice season ending point’s fun. The 2015 Interstate Auto Auction WOFS champion will be guaranteed $1500 from a total fund of more than $4,500. Officials also explained that the fund is bigger than any other series or track the run these types of cars in the entire country.
“Dave and I have stated from day one our goal was to give back to the racers as much as we can. We want to defer the costs as much as we can. With the IAA’s help, we have been able to put a decent points fund in place for 2015. The nice thing about our points fund is all you need to do is finish in the top ten in points, regardless of how many events you compete in. To be eligible for most point funds, you have to compete in 80% of the races. We’re trying to make it easier on the teams,” said Little.
