Susice Enjoys Syracuse Mile

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Ryan Susice collected the biggest victory of his young career Saturday by capturing the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series SUNY Canton 30-lap event at the New York State Fairgrounds.

Susice passed Shane Jablonka on lap six and never looked back, pulling away to an easy victory at the one-mile clay oval. He collected $4,000 for winning the event.

“It’s a dream come true for me. I didn’t think we had enough to win it,” Susice said. “We came here with the intention just to make a lap unless we had a good time trial. We time-trialed third and were fastest today. We dialed the car in.”

Brandon Sweet chased him to the finish in second, followed by Jablonka, Jesse Cotriss and Dale Caswell.

The finish:

Ryan Susice, Brandon Sweet, Shane Jablonka, Jesse Cotriss, Dale Caswell, James Henry, John Ferrier, Steve Barber, John McAuliffe, Matt Hulsizer, Jack Gentile, Eric Giguere, Anthony Perrego, Jimmy Spellmon, Erik Holmgren, Tim Paul, John Scarborough, Tom Benedict, Tim Sears, Jr., Justin Wright, Christine Martin, Mark Chiddy, Steve Hankle, Neal Williams, Sammy Reakes IV, Shane Peacore, Chris Raabe, Dean Patterson, Chris Herbison, David Marcuccilli, Jim Spano, Nate Reynolds, Mark Dixon.
