Elliott Dominates World Crown 300
JEFFERSON, Ga. – Chase Elliott completely dominated Wednesday’s World Crown 300 super-late-model race, winning all three segments at Gresham Motorsports Park to take home $20,000.
Elliott, the current NASCAR K&N Pro Series East point leader, was never seriously challenged throughout the 300-lap event. Elliott set fast time and darted into the lead at the outset of the event.
“We just really had a good car tonight,” said Elliott, aftertaking the checkered flag. “Hats off to everybody on our crew, everybody worksreally hard especially this season I feel like they’ve really made our racecars better.”
The only time Elliott lost the lead during the first 150-lap segment was when he pitted for fresh tires. He fought his way back to the lead, passing Casey Smith to retake the lead on lap 131.
At the end of the first segment, the top 14 positions were inverted, giving Mason Mitchell the lead for the next 100-lap segment.
Slicing his way up through the pack, Elliott finally retook the lead on lap 226 from Kyle Benjamin during a restart. He held the lead until the end of segment two.
Per event rules, only the lead lap cars transferred to the third and final 50-lap segment. After pit stops, Ryan Blaney inherited the lead.
It took Elliott only four laps to chase down and pass Blaney, and from there Elliott only needed to survive three yellow flags and a red flag before securing the victory.
