Hemric Survives For PASS South Victory
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Daniel Hemric used tire management perfectly en route to victory in the season opening round for the Pro All Stars Series South late models at Greenville Pickens Speedway Saturday night.
Garrett Campbell started on the pole and had the dominant car for most of the night, but faded through the field late. That allowed Randy Gentry to take the lead in the closing laps.
Gentry looked to be on his way to victory until the only caution flag of the race waved on lap 137 of the 150-lap event.
Hemric took full advantage, bypassing Gentry when racing resumed to score the victory.
NASCAR K&N Pro Series East competitor Cameron Hayley finished second, followed by Gentry, Ben Rowe and Campbell.
Walker Yates won the companion PASS Pro Late Model Series 50-lap feature. Randy Porter went to victory lane in the 75-lap Southeastern Super Trucks event.
