VanDoorn Brothers Join Baize Racing

SALEM, Ind. — Brothers Johnny and Butch VanDoorn have been hired to manage racing operations for Hunter Baize Racing next season.

Fifteen-year-old Hunter Baize will race primarily with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour under the guidance of the veteran late model racers.

“I’ve been working on this for about four months,” said team owner Robbie Baize. “I don’t think I could have asked for a better set up for our race team and Hunter then to have these two fine gentlemen working with us for the 2014 season. With all their knowledge and experience, I feel we will have a legitimate shot at winning the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship in 2014 and we will be competing for series wins.”

Johnny VanDoorn is a three-time ARCA/CRA Super Series champion. VanDoorn ran a limited series schedule in 2013, but still scored series wins in the inaugural Border Wars 7UP 150 at Toledo Speedway, the Berlin 251 at Berlin Raceway, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway and won the Labor Day Weekend event at Winchester Speedway.

Younger brother Butch VanDoorn also has an impressive resume as a CRA championship-winning crew chief. Butch turned the wrenches for older brother Johnny in his first two CRA championships and was the crew cChief for inaugural JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion Erik Jones.

Kentucky native Hunter Baize finished ninth in 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points with two top 10 finishes in 2013.
